Today we consider the following:

What songs resonate in your soul?

There is probably at least one that brings you to tears. Why is that? Is it the lyrics? Is it the vibrating of your emotion with the strings of the instruments? Is the song connected to a place and time special to you?

If you indulge me, I’ll share four that resonate with me...

The Morrowind main theme:
Promontory/The Gael (Last of the Mohicans’ main theme)
Tool’s Lateralus:

my fav song when I was 17 or so. I didn’t understand why I loved it so much then. now I see it’s the messages that I had to hear then but only came to hear now, another 17 years later!

It's Easy to Be Enlightened on a Remote Mountaintop | Made in Cosmos ✨ | 01/10/2023
A friend once told me about how his plant medicine teacher travelled to a remote village in Peruvian Andes. She had to walk for a few days through desolate mountains and valleys in crisp and thin air. After a long journey she reached her destination and was struck by the immaculate vibes. The whole village was peaceful and serene, everyone seemed to live in harmony with the plants and animals around them and with each other.

ChatGPT is reactionary. It takes the input and looks for replies that are related. It's an excellent pattern matcher, which is why in most cases people are very impressed. But ChatGPT is the world's greatest bullshitter. It's not actually thinking. Thinking requires uniting disparate

a paradox of privacy | Yuelian Hong | 01/10/2023
i recently joined a community on discord where each member was given two personal starting channels by default, a public one and a private one. the group is relatively small, with ~30 members in total and only a handful actively posting to their public channels at any given time, and due to this more intimate setting i have not felt compelled to post anything privately just yet. but the ongoing presence of the “private” channel still beckons out of the corner of my eye, its open invitation to post

Rather than fussing over a dichotomy of style vs. substance, both works propose that substance can in fact be achieved through style.

Greatly appreciate the reading and writing, thanks everyone!
