Today we meditate on the following:

What's your "spirit" animal?

I there an animal you relate to a lot? Who’s (symbolic) characteristics resonate with you? Are you constantly transforming, like the snake?

Or are you seeing ahead, like a raven, the harbinger of—what seems to be—bad luck? But you're actually just seeing what could happen, giving yourself and others the opportunity to take action.

Or do you persevere, protecting those closest to you with the ferociousness—not found anywhere else in the animal kingdom—of a honey badger?

I relate much to the above three animals (that’s why I picked them, duh! 😉). All three are a bit “dark,” maybe later in life, I’ll lean more into some crow or fox trickster energy.

Anyway, let me know what animal you relate to (if any).

If It Wasn't for This War, I Wouldn't Have Met My Friend | Made in Cosmos ✨ | 01/16/2023
I was putting my daughter to bed one night when our dog started jumping around like crazy. She had diarrhoea on the previous day, and I worried we might need to go on a walk fast. It was already past 10pm and my husband was out with his friends. I began to think what options we had. Should I drag a half-asleep kid out of bed and dress her in winter gear so that we go all together? Or maybe wait until she’s fully asleep and leave her alone for a few minutes? Should I call someone to help us? Who would that be?

bang trim | Yuelian Hong | 01/16/2023
i have yet to find a place where i live in Germany which offers free bang trims the way my salon in pittsburgh used to, and I’m currently too poor to shell out €25 to shed a few centimeters of deadweight, so today i decided to take matters into my own hands! although i am in possession of not 1 but 2 different hair cutter combs - the kind with a disposable razor blade between its teeth so that you can lop off large swaths while pulling it through your hair - the last time i used it several months ago, my bangs looked all lumpy and uneven afterwards, as if they had been caught in a mulcher. so i thought i should give a pair of proper hair shears a try, since i just happened to have them on hand, from the time two years ago when we asked Ulrich’s mother (who once worked at a salon) to give us haircuts during COVID lockdown. She was slightly traumatized by the sheer length and quantity of my hair and hinted afterwards that she would prefer not to have to cut it again.

Ambition | Chris Wong | 01/17/2023

What does ambitious mean? A common answer would be a person who wants to achieve something. That "thing" is usually either status or an achievement that confers status. For example, a certain amount of money, a title, an invention, or ownership in a business.

What all these things
